putting susp lift in, what else to replace?
I'm putting a 3" fabtech suspension lift on my '89 suburban (1/2ton 2wd w/ 115k miles). Originally I was going to replace everything on the front end (tie rod ends, pittman arm, idler arm, etc.) however, now I'm wondering if I can do things like pittman arm and idler arm later and just go for the tie rod ends and ball joints now. What do you think, should I just go for it?
Thanks! |

i think it would be fine to replace those later, unless they are definately worn out... just dont forget about it... though it is easier to do it while you are already under there.

just fyi... I decided to go ahead and do it all... repalcing ball joints, tie rod ends, idler arm, and pittman arm.
I do have a lot of play in the steering now and am hoping this will help. Not sure how much of the play is the actual steering box b/c I'm not replacing it. |
