3" spindles vs 2.5" spindles, is it worth switching for that extra half inch?

I currently have mcgaughys spindles and about to install. I will be running ridetech springs so cutting them won't be an option. Starting to think I should go with belltech 3" spindles for that extra half inch of lowering. Am I overthinking this or is that extra half inch worth it? Kind of thinking I should maximize my spindle drop while I can

I will say - I have never used either - but from what I have read some of the 2.5" spindles are really 3" - so maybe compare the ones you have to the stock spindles before you swap them out.
