clips marked as 1 go on each end of the pads
clip marked 2 goes down in the bottom of the caliper..if you have It flipped upside down

What year truck do you have? Disc brakes on 73-87 are a different design and don’t use those shims/clips.

GM started using that style clips/shims in 1999 on the trucks.

Unless you have an aftermarket kit or brackets that let you use other calipers.
