2 wheel drive 1974 question please
I have owned a couple of 1972 GMC Jimmy's and am looking at a 1974 Blazer. Was the rear suspension of a factory 2 wheel drive leaf springs or trailing arm and coil springs like the first generation
Thanks

73-82 were leaf spring.
The rear hanger was different than the 4x4 version but they were still leaf spring.

Re: 2 wheel drive 1974 question please
Really only the front rear hanger was different. Difference was it hung down below the frame and the mounts were a little longer. The 2wd bolt holes were different (couple match up) and it sat even with the bottom of the frame.

What you are talking about is using a 4x4 frame to convert to 2wd.

That picture is the front hanger. The point is the 2wd and 4x4 (REAR leaf spring) hangers are different. Thanks for the picture.

Yeah not sure with the rear hanger as the frame I got didn't have any springs on it so I think the hanger was removed prior to me getting it. Only reason I know about the front one was when we were looking we noticed the difference between my original frame and the replacement one. |
