motor/coil cover found in junk yard

was mauling around the junk yard getting parts for my project. Came across a yukon Denali with this cover on it. I wanted something to cover the coils and thought why not. Total cost was $60 and a quick Google search I found just the covers for $100 and up.
Not to sure I like it but I obviously don't have the drive on but what ya think?

Re: motor/coil cover found in junk yard

Some folks love the three-piece covers; others hate them. I've seen a few others on this board. I don't care for them myself. But it doesn't matter what I think or anyone else thinks. If you like them, that's what matters!

Do a google image search for "ls swap painted vortec cover" or "painted vortec cover", and note the results. This appears to be an easy and cheap way to convert a plain-jane factory cover into a real glamour article.

Re: motor/coil cover found in junk yard

Dang that is more than I thought they would be out of a JY! I was expecting more like $10.

Other than that, Kipps is spot on x2.

Re: motor/coil cover found in junk yard

That's a steal, if you like them you should buy them. My motor came with just the top piece and it looks a little funny. I searched on eBay and found them for $200+.

it was 10 per piece. hence the 30 for the 3 covers and 25 for both valave covers then the tax. I did a quick Google search and they are going on flea bay anywhere from 100 to 160. so I figured I'd try and if i didnt like them -sell them.

Re: motor/coil cover found in junk yard

I found these at Speedway for $129. There Aluminum and mount very easy. I just wanted to cover the coils and don’t find much for an LS1

You replace 2 of the bolts that hold the coils with a stud then mount to the studs
Then you install the oil fill tube that has an O ring for sealing

Re: motor/coil cover found in junk yard

I have about 8 of the factory engine covers (in various styles). If you guys really want one, PM me and I can send one to you for a reasonable price.
