Gauge cluster compatibility
Will the gauge cluster from an 1985 be plug and play in an 1987 TBI truck? Thanks,

Re: Gauge cluster compatibility
It will be plug and play as long as both clusters have full gauges or both clusters have lights. If one has lights and the other has full gauges then you will have to move wires around in the cluster connector to make it work.

Re: Gauge cluster compatibility
So the 85 cluster should have a service engine light like the 87?

Re: Gauge cluster compatibility
The 85 cluster will likely have a "choke" light instead of a "service engine" light. I believe the only difference is the printing on the colored plastic lens that covers the bulb. So you could simply take the lens that's printed with "service engine" out of the 87 cluster and swap it over into the 85 cluster.
