The engine came from TurnKey/Avance Adapters. It uses a marine computer with a five wire hookup and no o2 sensors. The hardest part was fabing a new crossmember to hold the motor

Wanna sell it? Lol, it was worth a shot. Awesome job. I'm hoping to do the same with my 72 K5 but I'll be going with a lq9/4l65e combo out of an Escalade. Show us some more pics of the truck if you've got them.

MMMMMMM, 6.0L!!!!!! OT Question, you got a shackle flip on the back? Cause those look like stock springs and I can't see any blocks, along with the springs looking like they come in below the frame.

Is there any particular reason you went with a 700r over the 4l60e or 4l65e? Just curious because that seems like it would be an easier swap to just swap the motor and tranny in one move. Just curious.

i'm guessing the motor and tranny were purchased separately, hence the 700r4. wouldn't the tranny that comes with a 6 liter be a 4l80e and not a 4l60e anyway?

Not exactly.

The LQ9 is offered w/ the 4l65e in the various AWD Escalade's and the Silverado SS.

The LQ4 is offered w/ the 4l60e in the AWD C3 and Denali and I'm not sure but I believe the 1500HD also.

The LQ4 is also offered w/ the 4l80e in the H2, 2500, 2500hd and Avalanche 2500

I'm sure I'm mission something somewhere but that's a fairly accurate rundown of what you can get the 6.0 with.

No, the LQ9 is the 345 HP version of the 6.0 and the LQ4 is the 300-325 HP version. Basically the same motor with some minor differences such as flat top pistons, and higher compression ratio in the LQ9 as compared to the LQ4.

i would still love to get a hold of one of those ls1 motors. the lq4/9 are still considered ls1 motors, right?

It's relatively strong. It's about the same strength as the last few years of the 700r4. The 4l65e is better. It's a built 4l60e they also put them behind Corvettes. The 4l80e is even better but that thing is pretty darn big and is not as efficient.

Yes, the LQ9/LQ4 6.0, LM7/LM4/L59 5.3, LR4 4.8, LS1/LS6 5.7, L18 8.1 are all part of the LS family of motors. Although, the L18 takes more from the previous generation big block than it does from the LS motors.

I'd love to get a hold of one too. I'm currently on the lookout for a LQ9/4L65e out of an Escalade or Silverado SS. From what I hear the HP/TQ numbers from the LQ9 without the cats and restrictive exhaust are more like 395/425. That's stock, can you imagine if you add a cam, some heads, headers, a good tune. I think you cold easily be in the 450/450 range. That's my plan.
