1978 Chevrolet blazer

Picked this little blazer up yesterday. Only rust I found was behind rear wheels. I am presuming that the brown on it is not original and that the top should be white. I welcome any comments good or bad

I have the chrome strips for the side but are the clips that hold them on available?

Correct; top should be white.

RPO ZY1 indicates solid paint (yellow) so the brown was added after the fact.

Thanks.

Is the rear panel on the tailgate correct? The 6 inch wide stainless strip? I thought those were for later ones but I see them on most 78s

One last question. The wagon wheels I believe are original but would they have had beauty rings on them from factory? Sorry if a dumb question.

Re: 1978 Chevrolet blazer

Nice find, love the seats. I didn't know you could get dual exhaust from the factory. I have always loved blazers but never bought one....yet.

All the ones I saw new had them, at least for a while till they fall off. The true off-roaders in those days ditched then as they would fall off in the mud and grime anyways. Not sure if GM offered them without trim rings or not.

The literature does say "brushed panel on tailgate" but it doesn't say which one.

I think the Chevyenne pickup gets the narrow one in '78, because of the depth of the tailgate, but the Blazer gate doesn't have that depth, so - I'm going to say the one shown is correct.

The font of the "Chevrolet" lettering, though, looks like '81 and later to me.

The emblem is the correct pre-'81 font

This made me chuckle. If anybody has anything bad to say, they're on the wrong website. Neat truck.
