New around here with a 66
I've been looking for a 1st gen and finally picked one up last week! It's a 1966 step side with some work done to it. She has a 355 sbc with a little work done, 700r4 with shift kit. She has a camaro front stub and a GTO position rear end. Body is solid no rust or bondo, she does have a vibration up around 65-70 MPH. Not sure yet what that could be? Possibly bad ujoints or drive shaft out if balance? Anyways I plan on fixing that, clean up the wiring, finish the paint and add air ride. Right now she sits real low to the point the exhaust hits the ground from time to time (another thing I'll be fixing) so far I love the truck, she really turns heads and fun to drive!!

I like it, I like the stance, paint and patina. Not sure I’d change a thing. Pretty *****en if you ask me.

Paint is still a work in progress that I'm going to finish up. I started on the hood, the front corner is what everything will look like when finished.

Very nice. So are you embellishing on what’s already there or is that custom....the paint?

Yes I'm just picking up where the previous owner left off. What he did was paint the truck gloss red then walked around with black spray paint and hit all the areas you see 😟 Then the plan is to sand the black down until red starts coming through then buff of clearcoat like the hood corner in the second picture. I personally would never have done this but for now its free with a little elbow grease so I'll continue to finish it. If I absolutely hate it when it's done I'll get it re-painted. |
