Clips for plastic cowl screen

Does anyone know where to get the metal clips which hold the 81-87 plastic cowl screen to the cowl? All I see are the clips sold together with the screen.

Also, does the metal tab on the cowl grille go in between the rectangular slot in the plastic screen, or does it go in front of the slot?

Thanks.

Thanks. Looks like the metal tab goes inside the plastic screen slot.

Does anyone know where I can get one of those metal brackets for the plastic screen? I have one but misplaced the other one. I don't want to spend $70 for a new screen with shipping just to get one clip.

Looks like your options are the junkyard or someone can get one off a parts truck.

Or maybe another fellow forum member can help a brotha out.

No squares left in the junkyards around here. I guess they are all crushed or are somebody's project vehicle now.

Well yeah, that too. If I get out to a yard soon, I'll grab some.

Re: Clips for plastic cowl screen

Thanks for the help. I wait it out for awhile. What I don't get is that the replacement plastic screens are available aftermarket with the metal clips already installed, so some company must be making the clips - just not selling them separately.

It looked like even the OEM part was like that too. The screen came with the clips, they weren’t sold separately. I know how you feel, it’s the same with the 4 small horizontal trim on the front grille. I need the clips because I have a bunch with the clips being broken. You can buy the trim with the clips, but not separately, go figure.
