Does anyone know what the set screw is for?

I had to make up a different throttle linkage for my V-6 when I put on the Bowtie Overdrive bracket. I shifted the normal spot I used to the old hydramatic kickdown bracket, works great. I had my grandson push the pedal to the floor to make sure I have the full range of travel and max throttle (if needed). I can screw in the setscrew in if needed, but I was u sure what it was ever used for?

Fixed it. #1 is the accelerator lever. #2 os where the hydramatic kickdown road was connected. Both parts are one and move in unisome.
