1950 Master cylinder rebuild

Anyone have a diagram or schematic to assist me in th MC rebuild. I got it in a box of pieces and a rebuild kit. Need some visual direction. Thanks

I'm not finding one and may have to draw one.

They are beyond simple

The residual valve goes in first and it usually easier to stick the spring on it before you put it in. behind that the cup that isn't on the piston. then the piston with the cup in at the back so the lips seal the fluid in then the snap ring.

I like the three stone hones far better than the ball hones. I use brake fluid as a honing fluid or hone dry I don't believe in putting anything else in the brake cylinder but you can use alcohol to clean it if you need to but no solvents that have oil in them. Make sure that you don't have any pits in the areas where the cups ride. It doesn't have to be perfect where they don't ride against the bore but need to be pit free where it needs to seal.

I know it may be too late since you have the new stuff, but you may want to upgrade to a dual circuit master cylinder for safety reasons. you then have 2 hydraulic circuits so if one circuit has, say, a leak etc, the other circuit is available to stop the truck. it would give you a front circuit and a rear circuit from the same master cylinder so a safer option than relying on a system that fails everything at the same time.
here is a thread that talks about it and has some options. you could also try the vendors to see if there is a bolt on replacement. if it concerns you.

While this isn't a truck cylinder the internals are the same. The arrow points to where the donut looking rubber piece in the image you posted goes.

I'd keep it simple now and if the cylinder hones up good it should work fine. If it doesn't hone up good then we can discuss swapping master cylinders to something like a 68 C 10 dual master cylinder.
