4L85e....

So I was walking around a PNP, and found this, which was not on my list but looked like it should have been! Next thing you know, the back of my shirt is greasy and my wheelbarrow is much heavier.

I haven't been able to find out much for good info on the 4L85e. Can you all school me on this, how much is it REALLY different than a 4L80e, and what are the positives and negatives of using this transmission?

Re: 4L85e....

Some more pics of the tags. I did also grab the TCM out of this, knowing it was controlled separate from the Duramax ECM.

Re: 4L85e....

Does the Duramax have the same bell housing bolt pattern as a LS? I assume you are going to bolt it up to a LS based engine?

Yes, kinda. The Duramax uses a bellhousing adapter similar to a Cummins that adapts it to a "standard" GM bellhousing. Yes I would put it behind an LS motor.
