*Rivets On Rear Fenders*
Someone school me on this. I have only seen these two rivets at the arch of the rear fender on a hand full of trucks but never in person. I was told they were factory rivets but I don't see them on old pics of barn finds, old rusty original trucks, etc. If they are factory rivets are they shown in the manual?

I'm not sure why you didn't see them in other pictures, they attach a brace from the outer edge of the fender to the bed side.

Re: *Rivets On Rear Fenders*
Think I may have found a pic. I have the other braces installed. Never knew about the crown brace for the fender because I have never seen them on an AD truck I've looked at in person and only a few online.

Re: *Rivets On Rear Fenders*
The only ones I've ever seen without rivets are where someone removed the brace and welded up the holes...

mongocanfly,
Thanks for the pics. I learn something new every day. That's a good thing.

Re: *Rivets On Rear Fenders*
I'm not so positive that those weren't added somewhere in the year to year fixes for issues that showed up. One of the fenders I put on my 48 in 1973 cracked right about at the top of the wheel opening from vibration and I don't think it has the brace.
It's hanging on the wall in the shed and I can go look in a few minutes.
