63- headlights won't work
After a brutal week of changing auto transmissions on the 63 3 times (the one constant was a "good" converter that I didn't know was bad), now the headlights wont work-- they did when I parked it 6 years ago with the bad trans.....
the running lights in the hood, dash lights, and taillights all turn on, just not the headlights--they are still plugged in at the core support--- What should I check, or look for??

Re: 63- headlights won't work
Dimmer switch would be my first guess. I thought my switch went out, so I bought a new one, but that didn't fix it. Then I remembered that I had disconnected the plug at the core support for some reason and forgot to hook them back up Anyways, I left the new switch in, and about a year and a half later, that new switch went bad. Replaced it with the one I first took out, and that switch has been great ever since

Times 2 on the dimmer switch. Usually it just the connections as they are prone to corrosion due to their location especially if the cab or windshield leaks. They have pigtails available

Re: 63- headlights won't work
Thanks guys! Yep dimmer was triggered- bright is no light, and dim the lights come on! Don't know why I didn't think of that.... A little off my game! Haha...
Will have to check out the connections in the daylight.

Re: 63- headlights won't work
The contacts on the dimmer get dirty so it doesn't work. Cycle the switch about 10-20 times and it should start to work.
