Re: Original Throttle linkage to Edelbrock Carb?
Here is one link where that has been answered.

Re: Original Throttle linkage to Edelbrock Carb?
I bought a round stock 1/4" with Mr. Gasket linkage bushings. Works great!

Re: Original Throttle linkage to Edelbrock Carb?
If I wanted to do my throttle rod like the pic in post #4, what parts do I need to buy? As of now I have something a bit substandard rigged up to the smaller hole on the carb arm with a cotter key. Maybe it was my stock 2 bbl stuff. I thought about this one, just not sure if the threads on the stock rod are 1/4-28. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/afc-10171

Re: Original Throttle linkage to Edelbrock Carb?
A few things I learned in trying to hook my stock V8 pedal bell crank to the large hole on the carb like this https://www.fordmuscle.com/archives/...rottleLinkage/
The threads on the stock linkage rod are 1/4 -32 so I made a 1/4-28 rod as seen in the tutorial and bought the heim joints and stuff. Thing is, the geometry with a straight rod didnt work because of the arc in the carbs travel and no matter how I bent or altered the rod (J bend, Z bend etc) i never could get full trave on the carb. I could set it up connected at full throttle and the carb wouldn't fully close when I let go. Conversely, if I set it up for the carb at idle, it would only pull part way open. I believe the problem lies in the fact that the large hole begins pulling back and downward as it crosses the apex mid throttle when you floor it. So now its back to this which wiggles a bit but gets full travel Last edited by AcampoDave; 07-24-2021 at 03:14 PM. Reason: Added a pic |
