Brake Pedal Question ?
It has been mentioned a few times on this forum, that drilling a hole 1 inch lower, where the master cylinder rod connects, provides a better angle to the firewall booster, when adding power brakes.
My question is : Is the brake pedal on a truck equipped with power brakes from the factory different than a non-power brake truck ? Is the hole lower than a non-power brake pedal ? |

Re: Brake Pedal Question ?
You mean it's not unnecessary?

Re: Brake Pedal Question ?
The angle is not what gets improved its the pedal ratio and the stroke of the rod.

Re: Brake Pedal Question ?
The '63-'66 truck brake pedal has the hole in the same location whether the truck came with manual brakes or factory power brakes. The different ratio for the power brakes was accomplished with the bellcrank assembly on the engine side of the firewall.

Re: Brake Pedal Question ?
I'm guessing to drill 1" lower I would measure center to center correct?
