Gas cap identification

Hello
Does anyone have any idea what this gas cap came off of originally. It was on a 1955 Corvette but it’s not original to a Corvette. I think it off a old tractor. Paint looks to be original
Thanks
Pete

Yes , thats what the cap looks like on the outside for 1963-1965 trucks , original assembly line cap. That other one you bought was the service replacement . This cap in your picture is actually
a 63 cap because of the bigger ears to lock it in place. Most of the 60-63 caps I see are completely smooth on the face.

Wow
This came off of a 1955 Corvette. My friend was restoring. I thought it came off of a tractor. Well that’s good to know I had it for a while and had no clue what it’s origins were from.
Thanks

Re: Gas cap identification

Im not a corvette guy but this cap would not of original been used on a corvette , although in a pinch it will work due the big ears. I used one on my case skid loader when I lost the original

Hello
I am a Corvette guy. When I got the gas cap I was going to put it on the truck. But the big “ears” didn’t work with my fuel neck. I was to.d it might be off a tractor. I thought it looked like a c10 gas cap. But, this guy had this cap sitting around for decades. Does this gas cap have any value? How much would it be worth?
Thanks
Pete
