speedo cable length

Just installed a TH350 automatic in my 65 C10 and the stock speedometer cable does not appear long enough to reach the attachment point on the new trans. Has anyone else run into this problem, and if so, what was your solution? Do I need to order a longer cable? What cable would work and have the correct attaching collars? My truck came with a 3-on the tree standard trans and the cable reached that fine.

Re: speedo cable length

Easy solution is to use a length of electrical wire, run it the route it needs to go, and measure that for your length…no guessing…I do it all the time

Re: speedo cable length

Check with your local parts house or truck repair shop, after you have a length, there may be a “stock” one close to your measurements…some truck shops can make them up…..

Re: speedo cable length

If yours was stock it was 60" inches, here is a 68" inch cable - https://www.classicparts.com/1939-72...info/24%2D524/
