Factory sliding rear window seal needed
I have looked high and low for a rubber weather seal to reinstall the factory sliding glass rear window in my '87 Chevy Scottsdale. Does anyone know of a possible source? I believe that the factory part number is 15593315.
Since I can't find one, I wonder how body shops address this issue? |

Tried LMC. They have one for a fixed glass but not for the sliding glass. Thanks for the reply!

Re: Factory sliding rear window seal needed
Would a used gasket be of any use, or is it likely too far gone?
I have a sliding window in my truck, but want to convert it to a non-sliding window. One pane is broken out. It's the chunky aluminum type. I don't know if that's the factory window or not.

Re: Factory sliding rear window seal needed
Thanks, but I would prefer a new one. If I don't find one this week, I am also going to go with a non-sliding window.

Re: Factory sliding rear window seal needed
I have read of people reusing their original, and even glass installers preferring to use the original if it's not damaged. So getting a hold of an OEM one might pay off. Also, I haven't checked, but maybe Precision makes one.

Re: Factory sliding rear window seal needed
Unfortunately the LMC gasket wont work with factory slider windows. I'm going to either use my solid rear glass gasket, or the original gasket I got from a slider window truck.

Re: Factory sliding rear window seal needed
I just put in the CR Lawrence solar tinted sliding back glass in my build. Use Precision WCR 1135 for weather-strip and WLS 1135 for lock strip. I called Brothers Truck Parts to make sure I had the correct part numbers before I ordered them and they said it would work.
A tip is to install both chrome corners outside of the truck before you put it on the pinch weld. I've tried the way they said to do it in the video and its a real bear to get it in. Also the ball hook tool works best and if you can get a second person with another tool to help its very easy.

Re: Factory sliding rear window seal needed
I love it. It looks much better in person that in the pics. I converted the truck to vintage air ac but I always loved the feel of the air through a slider. I will ting the windshield and all the windows to whatever that tint is because its perfect.

Re: Factory sliding rear window seal needed
This rear Slider looks a lot like one of the factory style standard slider that GM used. This worked with the dual working cab rear window rubber seal for standard glass and the standard slider. But there was two main types slider builds one works and looks a lot like above pic, other one does Not-Work.
*** The other key is the Rubber Seal has to be Custom style to work with the Standard Slider.***

Re: Factory sliding rear window seal needed
Try brothers truck parts I believe they sell the exact same one. It was them I contacted about which weather seal was the correct one for the truck.

Re: Factory sliding rear window seal needed
I am about to try and restore my original slider. I believe I found a source for felts and seals and stuff for anyone who might be looking to do the same. Rubber the Right Way out of San Diego has a large selection of felts and sweeps. I haven't torn mine apart yet to take any measurements yet but looks like they should have something that will work.
