window fuzzy installation question ?

Is it possible to install the window fuzzies PRIOR to installing the window glass?

It seems that is would make the window fuzzy install easier.

Yes, I saw that video, it was great.

I can't remember where, but I also read something, that someone installed the fuzzies before the glass, and it made the installation easier, as the glass was out of the way.

You could probably drop everything including the glass into the door and then install the fuzzies and then bring it back up through the bottom.

Re: window fuzzy installation question ?

That's what I had to do, my glass was about level with the bottom of the window and it was tough to get the first strip in, the second strip was nearly impossible and I'm surprised I didn't bust the glass. There was no bump stop at the bottom of the door to remove to get the glass below the window frame.

I did put them in first, but that makes the rubber strip that goes across the top and down the back a major P-in the-A to fit correctly.

I ended up snapping all of the clips off and drilling (5/64" drillbit) and screwing (#4 flathead screws) the clips in place. They fit at the correct height now as well.

I watched it and still haven't figured out how they got them in with the glass in the way.

Re: window fuzzy installation question ?

I taped up my glass and installed too long pieces of tape folded back over to the other side of the glass dropped it down into the bottom of the door installed the fuzzies as well as The felts in the channel once they were in place I pulled that long pieces of tape through the fuzzies witch let me let me pull the glass up from the bottom of the door and onto its track then I installed the windwing I also bent the flange that the fuzzies is attached to away from the glass on both sides to give it a little more clearance when the window is all the way up
