Windshield Wiper Motor

Anyone who has replaced their windshield wiper motor, or has knowledge of, would like to know if the new replacement motors work better then original.
And how it works better.
Thanks,
Les

I bought a new one, i think it is a 3 position one, so low, med and high. not sure but i think that the originals were on or off, i could be wrong but i know that when i was looking i was given two choices. I have yet to install this one, but on my "69 the new one works great.

Not sure i helped you out or not....

Re: Windshield Wiper Motor

88Stanger,
Your post answered my question- new ones work better. Do you have the brand/part number of your new one, and please post information.
The wiper motor should be the same up to 1972. So your 1969 example is a good reference on how new ones work.

Note: 1966 and earlier had both single and dual speed motors.
Thanks,
Les

Re: Windshield Wiper Motor

New Port wipers has several option and both style wiper motors for the 60-66 Chevy trucks. A little pricey, but they even offer an intermittent option. I've read about these but haven't purchased one yet.

Re: Windshield Wiper Motor

I just last week replaced my wiper motor and used a rebuilt unit and had no problems. It was an exact replacement so it fit correctly and the two speed motor and park position worked flawlessly. Rebuilt motor was 64.00.
