65 six lug to five lug

I know zero about the years of the trucks covered on this part of the board so an obvious question to you guys.

My brother has a 65 long stepper that has been stored for a very long time. Recently he has been kicking around the idea to get back on it.

Are the 65's anything like the 67-70 trucks in that you can unbolt the entire front suspension and swap in 71 -? to get the five lug and disk brake set ups?
I realize not all the holes would line up perfectly, just curious if this a thing?

Yep, and the holes line up (mostly) too.

Re: 65 six lug to five lug

I used my stock control arms, installed new ball joints for a squarebody and used the 1.25" rotor from a squarebody. Worked great on my truck. The rear axle is going to be the same as 67-70 stuff if it's the stock one
