64 C10 - Lowered 3", New Shocks?

I'm lowering the rear of my 64 C10 short box with CPP 3" lowering springs. Will stock rear shock absorbers still work, or do I need shorter shocks?

What shocks do you have mounted? You should be able to find the extended and compressed lengths by the part number. Make sure the new ride height is at the midpoint in the shock travel that there is enough travel in both directions.

I installed the current shocks shortly after I bought the truck in 1996. I'll have to crawl under there and look Thanks!

Re: 64 C10 - Lowered 3", New Shocks?

I lowered my truck 3" in the back and used regular length Shocks. They seem to be ok but still bounce to much but I have a feeling they have settled into their new position. Today I was bouncing in the back of the truck and it would only go down and up once. I actually have a set of air shocks to put in but they are buried in my storage unit somewhere.
