The Wet Coast
Greetings from Canada,
New registration, new owner, old truck. We purchased a 1972 4x4 longbox 1/2 ton from the Rust Valley Restorers auction in Salmon Arm, trailered it home, tucked it into the garage and have been figuring out what to do to continue it's life. Almost have the cab off, and suddenly realizing the garage is too small. Liking this forum and it's format and hoping to gain some tips and ideas along the way. Intent is to return to a stock condition, repair what's needed and drive it. Should be a good project once I stop shoveling snow. I'd like to post a photo or two along the way. |

Thanks Liz, for fixing my registration.
Lots of questions will be asked, I can imagine. |

Re: The Wet Coast
Welcome aboard! Hopefully we can see some more pictures of your truck. Funny that you bought it from the guy in that show. I'm sure like a lot of those reality shows, that most of the reality is made up, haha. But regardless, that guy Mike seems like quite a character.

Re: The Wet Coast
His shows are a little dramatic and jumpy but funny how they end up finishing/selling a project by show's end...All in all, a nice, gregarious, rough and tumble guy that is looking to retire - his property sold, and his collection needed to be moved and/or sold. So we helped him a little. One day, perhaps our paths will cross - hopefully in the truck he sold us. I'll post a few more photos, and perhaps figure out how to create a Build Story. Body work will take most of my attention.

Re: The Wet Coast
I'm sorry to hear that Mike retired. Was hard to know what was real and what wasn't. I doubt they were able to actually build the cars for the dollar amounts mentioned on the show, but he definitely seemed to have an affinity and connection for each of the vehicles he acquired. Kind of seems too bad for him to be selling it off, but it the other hand, it's great that he's benefiting from everything he collected. Here is where you can tell us about your build:
http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa...play.php?f=115 On the upper left, just below the advertising panel, you'll see two buttons that say start thread, or new thread, or something like that. Click on that and you're ready to go! |
