Removing rear axle dust shield '66 C20

EDIT - Got it, heat gun and a lot of tapping did the trick.

What's the method of removing the dust shield on the rear of my '66 3/4 ton? If I ever knew, it's been too many years of playing with discs. I want to pull the backing plate off and blast it.

(Secondary question - I have the shop manual, but don't see it there. Does anybody else wish the darn book didn't cover everything up to dump-truck sizes? A nice 1/2 and 3/4 ton only would be nice but I'll take what I can get.)

Thanks! That puppy was ON there! It doesn't look like heavy duty metal so i didn't want to use a BFH. Heated it good and tapped with a tack hammer, even after it started to move it took a lot more to get it off.

Now I know - and hopefully this thread will help the next guy who has that issue.
