Bed angle strips
Has anyone used new bed floor angle strips from "Bed Wood and Parts"? I ordered these from Summit racing.
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/bdw-112473 When I got them I noticed they don't have the lip on the bed wall side. Then I looked at the company web site and they say they designed it that way. https://bedwood.com/products/1955-2n...32775195164726 I'm trying to decide if I should just order from somewhere else or use them. |

Re: Bed angle strips
i guess it depends on how original you want the bed to look. most people wouldnt notice the difference, but you would always know they werent quite right. personally I would want correct ones with the top lip.

Re: Bed angle strips
Mar-k sells the ones with the correct lip on them. A few bucks more but you get what you pay for.

Re: Bed angle strips
Being I was working on the drivers side filler mod, I realized that the repro-popped replacement had a very different profile, I opted to get a pair of new for the drivers side for the filler shield but left the factory on the passenger side.
Whether anyone will notice from one side to the other I am curious to see, but for the 'Rusto-mod'.... Again, is how original YOU want to go.

Re: Bed angle strips
I know Mar-k has great stuff, But I was already ordering from Summit and just added it at the same time. It said in description "American-made" so I thought it might have been Mar-k. Most suppliers sell parts made by someone else. I think the lip body line might add strength to keep the part straight and without it, it might not be as straight. I think I will order some Mar-k.

Re: Bed angle strips
This time around I'd say that Ogre gave the right answer. Unless you are shooting for an "Exactly as original" show award it will probably not be noticed by anyone anyhow and then only by someone who really knows these trucks. Then if they comment you have a story to tell and call it good.
It's a reminder that when we see something advertised through a vendor like Summit and not the manufacture it is most likely prudent to spend a couple of minutes doing some research on the manufactures site or just searching the original part number if it is available. I like buying from Summit though. Prices are honest and shipping is usually pretty reasonable.
