Took it for the first drive last night!
I finally got the truck roadworthy and took the truck with the cammed L83 and 6 speed auto for a drive. It ran pretty good! The L83 has a BTR 220 cam with headers and a 3" exhaust. There are some bugs to work out like the power steering pump, but it ran well, started fine, and had good power.
This build has been an adventure I do not wish to repeat. LOL Last edited by Joyridin; 06-30-2022 at 07:44 AM. |

Great looking truck. If it was your first LS swap it can be a bit daunting.
Your truck looks similar to my 68. |

Completing a direct injected motor has be be another level of complication.
I am confident there is more wire between the motor and the ECU than their was in the whole truck when it was new. Looks better than great! Cheers |

No doubt about that. Add in the fuel pump, fan wiring, and numerous other goodies and I could have bought stock in a copper company!

Sorry I missed the part about being a L83.
