Re: ISO Blazer Jimmy spare tire carrier carriage bolt

I’m just curious and this question may be ignorant as I’m not completely sure, I have a couple of carriers that I’m restoring, I have the carriers and oversized washers, but as far as the bolts go, isn’t it almost exactly like a carriage both readily available at any hardware store?

It's easier, though less productive, to ask, then wait hours, than do a search that returns answers in a second or check a hardware store, where nuts and bolts live.

Re: ISO Blazer Jimmy spare tire carrier carriage bolt

69-72 is a 7/16 fine thread carriage bolt that is over 6” long. Hard to find that as common hardware, if they exist at all. GM used a lug nut to fasten the wheel, hence the 7/16 fine thread bolt.
73+ changed to a 1/2 coarse thread and z-bar wing nut, so common carriage bolts are easy to come by in that thread.
The washers were identical across years.
Hope that helps.
