lowering 3/4ton longbed
Has anyone done a slight lowering of their 3/4 ton long bed? I'm throwing the idea around but want to see what is involved, and how it will look. I have an 84 Sierra 2500 with the HD rear axle. It's my daily driver that I use to go camping, or just out exploring dirt roads so don't want to go too low if I do lower it.

2wd or 4wd?
If you have the full-float rear axle, I assume it's a c20 with a big-block engine. Unless someone swapped the full-float into it.

Cut one wrap off the ft. coils. Move the spring hangers up 2" in the rear.

Wikid61 What would that do to the ride, loading/towing capacity etc, what would be the downfall of this?

The front will firm up, and corner tighter. The rear is still the same rating/ride. It will have a lower center of gravity. Upgrading shocks & adding a rear sway bar will further improve the truck.

Unless it was special ordered, the full-float was swapped in there, or the big block was swapped out. GM literature specifies a semi-float for all 1981+ c20 and k20 trucks. The exception, was c20 big-block trucks got the full-float.
