47-54 chevy truck drag race street/strip rear suspension options

Who is drag racing a 47-54 gm truck? Thinking about picking up a old AD body and doing some racing occasionally. Nothing serious and no plans to tub the truck, dont mind cutting the bed for wider wheel wells though. Would like to keep it on a 28x10.5 slick. Was originally thinking ladderbars and coils overs and a small C notch but curious what others are doing. The leaf spring mounts are directly under the frame rails from what I can see, could move them inboard of the rails and do Caltracs I suppose. Tried to Google and all I could find was street rod type stuff with limited adjustability. Guess I could make my own bars and make them more adjustable. Just curious what the guys with these trucks are doing.

Re: 47-54 chevy truck drag race street/strip rear suspension options

I was kinda/sorta/gonna do that many yrs ago when we were still racing,
I had my AD truck for a driver at that time, and wanted to race a truck of the same era..I wound up buying a fiberglass AD truck body, was gonna do a full cage, A-arm fronts and 3 or 4 link rear..then we got out of racing due to being broke all the time...still got the truck body out in the shed.
When you brought this up it made me think of JJ the boss from street outlaws

I didn't know you had an AD body. That's cool. Or maybe I just forgot because of old age.
Meanwhile what's up with the International?
