93

With 153,000 you can expect valve seals, steering box, ball joints, a well worn seat, and the stock radio dont work. And the heater control flap in the box broken, rear axle bearings gone, door hinges ,Taillights on one side wont work,................ and it just started.

I have a 93 silverado fullsize 4x4 blazer. I bought it with 114000 miles in 2000.
It now has 175000 miles.

I have:
replace the water pump.
had leak in the radiator fixed.
replaced the clutch.
replaced the light switch which some how melted
replaced the shock(i play rough)
replaced the upper ball joints(i play rough)
replaced the upper control arm bushings(i play rough)
replaced the inner and outer tie rods(i play rough)
replaced the front drive axles(boots got torn from too much offroading)
replaced the brakes several times.
had the rear end rebuilt(i play rough - too much mudding and never changed the lub)
A/c just recently leaked out the freon(i think). it just had to be recharged. i paid extra and converted it to the cheap stuff.
had to replace the hinge pin on driver door.
the trip o meter stop working - i need to remove the instrument clusted and see if i can fix it.

I have not had any problems or complaints with the 350 engine.
It is very strong and still sounds good(especially with a flowmaster and tips).
I have not had to mess with the alternator...yet.
My problems above are from playing rough and are also nomal wear and tear on the truck.
I would think if the previous owner is a grandma driver then there should not be too many problems.
I don't like buying modified vehicles...i would rather do the mods myself to know what has been done.

problems

I have listed just some of the common problems i have run in to. I forgot to list the glovebox door(cheap plastic) will break . Most are normal wear and tear. I like the 67-72 bodys better.

i have a 96 chevrolet extended cab wit 140,000 miles and i had to replace.

Intake Gasket
Heater hose connector into the intake- watch for this they corrode
Battery and alternator- (do to large amplifier for sound system b4 i had a powercap)

also after aroudn 100k miles ur oxygen sensors will go bad.

the truck sat for awhile b4 i bought it and thats when the gasket had to be replaced so maybe it was b/c of that.....

I have a 93 ext cab. About to turn 300,000. Rebuilt the motor @ 278,000
If you keep it tuned and repair the little thing as they happen, then who know's.
I'm going for 500,000.

My 95 had 143 on the clock when I sold it, my friends 90 GMC had a quarter million on the original engine, trans, and transfercase. I have a few other stories of 250K miles on these trucks with original driveterrains, but these occurances are rare and only happen on well maintained trucks.

1991 2500 2wd extended cab, 5.0L/4L60. 246,000 miles and going strong on the original drivetrain. I just recently had to replace the radiator, and I replaced the water pump and heater core at the same time just for GP. Idles a little rough, but still gets about 22 mpg. I'm hunting for a good low-mileage 5.7L to fix that, though...

Just had a 95 through with 330,000 on the odometer. That's miles not km. Drove great and the engine ran well.
