If your one of those guys that still saved the VIN from your truck…you can fill out a vehicle info request form from CA DMV. Assuming it is registered in CA

Re: Anyone see my old rig around?

I totally understand the regret after selling an automobile. My first car was a 55 Chevrolet. I sold it when I was 17 and will be 66 this month and still think about how stupid I was.

Re: Anyone see my old rig around?

Darn!
I thought I had the only 65 Chevy short step side 3/4 ton 4x4 in existence. Of course I had to build it myself from factory parts robbed from 64,65&66 trucks. Always thought that would be the ultimate truck and now that I have it I’m not disappointed. I can understand why you miss it. What was the story on yours?

Can definitely relate to your seller’s regret. Had a couple cases myself so now that I have what I like I just don’t get rid of anything anymore. Haven’t sold a vehicle since the 80’s.

Good luck in your search. Folks on this forum are great. Hopefully they can help you find it
Tom

Re: Anyone see my old rig around?

My wife and I built our 65 from an old 2wd cab, 1970 Era 4x4 frame I shortened about 12 inches. Running gear came out of 1973 3/4 ton that I slapped on a junkyard gm tbi setup. Steering box was from a gm 2wd truck with crossover steering on the Dana 44. Steering column was from a gm van so the start switch and tilt column look factory. Rear Axle was a dana 60 from a ford pickup with disk brakes. Front springs were 4 inch Ranchos, rear I did a custom shackle flip to gain the matching lift. Years worth of work.
