Rear Glass installation

I ordered new glass for rear doors. Also new seal with locking strip.I’ve made several attempts to install glass without completing. It seems the glass is too large for the opening. The glass overlaps the lip and almost fills the opening .

Re: Rear Glass installation

I had Mid-State AutoGlass put the large rear window in my '65 C10. I couldn't get it in and they even struggled with it but were able to finally get it in.

Re: Rear Glass installation

I've done them. It's incredibly easy if you use a rope. There was no locking strip on the original design. Just follow the Service Manual. Maybe aftermarket glass is not the right size?

Re: Rear Glass installation

That’s what it appears may be part of my problem . Along with that I’m trying to use a locking strip type gasket The glass I’m trying to install measures 11.75 x 20.75 across centerline. Can anyone confirm if this is correct measurements. Thanks in advance

Re: Rear Glass installation

Well I ordered the correct rubber seal from Steele Rubber. The glass almost installed itself. Perfect fit ,worth the high price.
