72 c10 vs 72 suburban doors
Hi,
Is there a difference between the 1972 suburban front doors and those on a 1972 c10? From the photos I've seen they look the same. If there is already a thread on this, happy to look at that as well. Thanks in advance! Brian |

Re: 72 c10 vs 72 suburban doors
The rear top of the window frame is rounded on a C10 and square on a Suburban.

The upper rear portion of the door frame on a Suburban/Panel has a 90 degree angle versus the truck's rounded door frame. The lower skins are the same.

Re: 72 c10 vs 72 suburban doors
The window frames are different. The Burban frames are square at the top rear pick ups are rounded.

All you have to do is swap the frames to make them work. (either way)

Re: 72 c10 vs 72 suburban doors
thanks very much for all the replies! Just wondering if it would be easier to replace the frame then it would the door bottoms? Seems like it would be. I have a 72 cheyenne super with rusted out door bottoms, have a set of nice rust-free suburban doors available to use, does anyone have experieince with that kind of swap? (frames)

Re: 72 c10 vs 72 suburban doors
Oh no! Suburban doors should never be altered.
They should instead be carefully installed in the living room as an alter to the ancient god Suburbanis. The god who created for man the capability to transport his family across long distances in comfort, style and safety. All without having to stare at the tailend of a beast of burden for weeks on end.

Re: 72 c10 vs 72 suburban doors
thanks guys! Do you have to remove the inner skin to do it, or can you simply remove the old frame and weld on the new one?

Let me get some pictures tomorrow of the one I dissected.
Then you will be able to see the process.

Re: 72 c10 vs 72 suburban doors
Somebody, somewhere is wanting to trade a nice set of truck doors for those Suburban doors. I would if I were closer.
