Marker light cleaning

I scored a pair relatively un-faded marker lights for my green Blazer but they had a higher than normal amount of dirt inside of them. One even had a terrarium growing inside! NW Oregon is the best!

In the past to clean these I've used compressed air and a garden hose to clean them. That has a tendency to push a lot of the dirt up into the top of the light where you can't get at it.

This time I borrowed my buddies ultrasonic cleaner. Fingers crossed that along with some dish soap in the water should do the trick.

Ninety minutes later and some rinsing in the kitchen they came out pretty good. I did use some picks to collect some bits that I just couldn't see to get to out by rinsing. There are a couple of spots where the lens bonds to the white plastic that I couldn't get clean. I may run them through again and then try some compressed air.

The upside is they are pretty clean and I didn't just push the dirt to a different part of the light. I'm calling this a win!

Re: Marker light cleaning

Thank you sir!

After a second round in the tank and some compressed air. I believe I reached the land of diminishing returns. Where it takes the same amount of energy but very little improvement is gained.
