How lovely.
Took the windshield out and my day went from OK to SUPER. Only part of the windshield that doesn't look like someone chewed at it is the bottom part. The driver sides not as bad but probably is going to have the same amount of effort to correct it. That truck cab is going to be more handy then I thought. I'm gonna have some fun in the coming weeks.

Well, I could move the entire firewall of my panel truck a few inches either way with minimal effort after I took the front section of the roof off. It was rotted where it meets the floor.....well, where it had met the floor at some point in its life. There was also no bottom windshield channel from the halfway point of the windshield, all the way through the passenger side. And, there was a hole in the top of the dash that I could easily stick my fist through. So you don't have it all bad :p Just remember, measure twice, cut once!!!

Bummer alex I am sure I will have the same or similar problem 's too... Just look at it as an opertunity to make it a flush mount windshield... Keep up the good work ..

Ouch. Looks like you have your hands full.
Can you tell us how you went about taking the windshield out? That is my next project.

That bites, but you can fix that no problem if you have an extra cab sitting around. measure once, twice, three, time's then cut...good luck and keep us posted.

Well i changed my plans on what i'll be doing this weekend. I guess the windshield frame is going to be my main project then I'll do the pillars and floors. I'm going to take a load of photos just so if anyone else want to tackle this job later then can see whats up or have a clue.
Obsesive23 & 71swb4x4.....it going to take alot more to bring me down. but you can wire 25g's to my account and it's yours :p Quote:

Well the good thing is the repaired area will be covered by the gasket so I'm thinking you could carefully cut out the bad and graft in some new metal and be good to go. I'm not very knowledgeable about body work but looks like you have a lot of good metal around that area to work with.
