Distributor Advance Hose Placement

Greetings All,
Quick question concenerning the correct placement for distributor vacuum hose setting. I have a Quadrajet 4 barrel on a 72 Chevy C10 pickup with 350 AT, PS, PB. There is a on the left, 2 in the front, and 1 in the rear if standing in front. Rear goes to brakes, lower front goes to PCV valve. I think the left and upper front may be reversed. Currently the left goes to distributor and upper front to cannister. Can anyone verify this is correct ? I've had some carburetor backfiring and sputtering and have checked and or replaced a good portion of everything else. Thanks in advance for your help

My dizzy vac. advance goes to the right side of carb, just ahead of the throttle linkage. Brakes & PCV as you stated. My upper left front goes to the dashpot on the choke (left) side of the carb.
