Question 77 Pickup / 79 Suburban Parts Interchange ?

Hello, boy do I feel lucky to have found this website. Looks like a lot of knowledge is here and I need help.
I have a 77 Chevy full size 1/2 ton that was a real disaster a year ago. Have just finished restoration on frame and body.
It is factory equiped with a 230 cu. in. and automatic that runs great.
Here is the question.---------------
I have a chance to get a 79 1/2 ton Suburban rust bucket with a just rebuilt 454 and a good automatic.
Will the engine and trans swap work into my pickup?
Frame stands? Engine mounts? Crossmember? Radiator? Manifolds? Etc.?

Want to do this but don't want to do it unless it can be done with a factory equiped appearance.

Thanks for any help.

It can be done. Pretty much everything will swap right over. The motor mounts on the '77 will require being moved forward into the V-8 position. An easy swap.

Welcome to the forum LHart. The crossmember might be a different style, but it can be made to work.....

What the others echo'd about the swap. Welcome to the board from south Mississippi.

Thumbs up Thanks All

Man you all are the greatest. Never expected so fast a response.

Going to drive home the Suburban tomorrw so I'll have the opportunity to get everything I might need to complete the conversion plus look over the entire rig for anything else interesting or needed.
I'll post when when done with it, good frame, body parts etc. Plus a perfect 300 in line 6 (combo head) Might be awhile though.

Thanks again.
