Just got home with a 1971 1 ton dually with 41k original miles on it! I bought this truck about 3 years ago from the original owners and it had a camper on it. It had 36k miles on it then. I sold it to a friend that used it to pull his boat to the lake and camp it the truck. The camper was needing some work so he removed it about 3 months ago. He decided to sell it again so I bought it back. This truck is 100% rust free!! Runs and drives like new. 402/4 speed and a factory tilt wheel!! I didn't really need another 1 ton, but this one was too nice to pass up again. I guess I will be looking for a flat bed soon?? Look at the pic of the floor!!! These is also a pic from when I first got it 3 years ago.

I paid $3300.00 for it. I paid more for it the second time around, but now there is NO camper and it has 6 new wheels and tires, and stainless wheels covers. I had always wished I would have kept this one, now I have it back!

so how does that work with the big block? the badges are 400 (which is for the 402 thats in it) but the option sheet says 396. i know that a 402 is just a 396 bored .030 over but do they still lable it as a 396 on the sheet???

You know how GM is?? In 1971 the option sticker says 396, the fender says 400, and the emission sticker on the inner fender says 402!!! I have seen several this way.

Longhorn man, The truck has a 4:10 gear, I looked up the rear end code last night. It dosn't have a tach (yet)

Joe, I have room in my shop. Just trying to save you the hassle of building a new shop. But then again, if you built any more shops, you could sell your mower. No grass anywhere.

What is real interesting, is that the back wall of the cab was not chopped up for a door when the camper was put on originally. I have never seen one that wasn't cut out.

Actually, the top was cut out above the rear window, into the roof!! It has been temporally fixed, but not real good. I am going to fix it right in the spring.

i know where theres a 69/70 truck just like that, beutiful condition (faded paint but NO rust.

it has the huge camper on it to, how hard are they to get rid of?

the one i know if is light green, with beutiful original bucket seats (only option i noticed) but i supppose it might have a tach/vac guage, and maybe has a big block??? i never looked that close.

Thanks for the kind words guy's!! I washed it up today, didn't change much with the paint being faded so bad, but it is clean. It will probally sit for now. ( too many other thing going on!) Anybody know where to buy a new flatbed? I haven't looked into them yet.

i love that area below the bridge......it's like shanty town. there is also a 67 or 68 sitting in the weeds along that stretch.
