Using the metal bed floor of an 85 LWB fleet on my 69 SWB fleet...

I asked this before combined with my last post and got no response, so here I go again.

I know that the metal bed floors for 67-87 are interchangable...the problem is I have a SWB and the only ones I can find are LWB....I'm assuming I could use the LWB floor and just trim up the excess with a wheel cutter. Has anyone done this or does anyone have any advice.....problems??

Thanks in advance!

Thumbs up

I used a floor out of a mid 80's For# lwb for my swb I marked out my diminsion's on the donor floor and took the plasma cutter to it.I then layed it in my bed and marked my original mounting holes and drilled them out and bolted it back together.I'm gonna haul stuff and didn't want to invest in a overpriced wood floor.I allso put some Herculiner coating on it before I bolted it down.

Do you have a SWB? If so, you wouldn't happen to have those dimensions would you?

I trimmed my lwb steel floor to swb dimensions and put my bed together with repo sides. 12" off of the front and 8" off of the back. the cross members all line up perfectly
