Dimmer Switch Relocation

I would like to move my floor mounted dimmer switch over to the right about 4" or so. How big of a job is this? Is it just a matter of drilling a new hole, moving it and filling the old hole. Also, would new carpet come with the dimmer hole already cut out, because I plan on buying a new carpet kit this spring, and if the hole is already cut, that makes moving the dimmer a bit more of a chore. Thanks.

Maybe. I know the rubber floormat sets are pre-cut for the dimmer switch hole.

My carpet I bought for my K20 doesn't have the hole cut - I don't think they normally do. Won't be a problem at all to put it where you want it. I would just put a couple bolts into the two old bolt holes and not worry about filling them.

You cut your own hole in most new carpet. Should be no biggie to move dimmer.

I noticed that the dimmer switch screws screw right into the floor. Are the holes in the floor that the switch screws into threaded? if so that could be a problem, unless you don't mind bolting them to the floor.

Just as simple as a remove and replace. That's great! When I start doing my interior/stereo I am definitely moving it over a few inches. Thanks!
