I had to change the heater core this weekend and decided to remove this thing (on top). I left the one on the bottom there for now.
What are they?
I think they are related to the after market A/C system that was in this truck. I removed most of it as I come across it.
If anyone knows what these are please reply

I can't even look at the picture to give you an idea. All I get is a red X, when I click on it nothing happens. Or maybe even less than nothing. Is it something with my browser settings?

i've never seen that in my truck or any truck i've worked on stock

60-66nut, it maybe your browser, i have viewed this thread a few times with no problem, to see it, right click over the pic, then go to properties, then where it says location...highlight the url (web address). Open another browser... past url into browser it should show up then..

Eddie, i have something similar on my firewall, but i believe it is the torque converter lock up. but it only has one vac. line, not 2.. disconnect it and see if anything happens. safe to say its useless... or you could disconnect the plug and hook a multimeter up to it and play with your A/C controls and see if something happens..

I have never seen them either, for what is's worth. I would bet it is to your aftermarket a/c.

I removed it saturday and been driving the truck since.
Probably for the after market a/c system.
BTW that wire at the top on teh first picture is a ground to the firewall.
The vacuum line from the top actually hooked to the bottom part.
The bottom part controls the flap near the blower.
The other vacuum port on that top thing must have hooked up to the engine somewhere to get the vacuum.

Its an electric vacume switch. A/C to close heater vent when A/c running. Matt

Its a blue arrow used to point at things.
