new 350 question

I bought a motor for my truck last week and I’m in the process of putting it in. My question is how many different oil dipstick configurations are on a 350. I know that some are on the drivers side and some are on the passenger side. My old engine had it on the drivers side and the dipstick looks to short for the new motor which has the hole on the passenger side. I’m not sure what year the block is but I know that it is a one piece oil pan gasket and it says 5.7 on the rear of the block. This is not a vortec. What years did the dipstick go into the passenger side?

its a 80+ block, and your old one was older. get a dipstick for a mid 80s engine and you'll be fine.
