Just got my 3" Spindles and Flip Kit
I just got my spindles and flip kit (DJM). I would have had the flip kit yesterday, but the FedEx lady brought it to the wrong house.

BTW does anyone have any pictures of what the control arm or brake banjo fittings looked like after their modifications?

To "adjust" my brake lines to clear the spindle, I just put everything together finger tight as close as it could get to being right. Then I used a small prybar to pry the brake line away from the spindle. I just did this a little, tightened everything up, then did it again. I just did this several times until it all fit.

Well, I got the spindles done today. I ended up having to bend the brake line on the passenger side too. I also had to grind each spindle a little just above the caliper for the wheels to spin freely.
As for the flip kit... It didn't go so smooth. The u-bolt nuts were really a pain. I had to put a torch them and use a three foot cheater just to get them off. I broke one, but got four rew ones. So I got those off and went to take the leaf springs off, but the bolts through the bushings wouldn't even come of with the air chisel. I didnt want to torch them because I had no way to press the bushings in or out (plus being a sunday, I dont think anywhere was open to do it), and I only had a propane torch. So I think I am gonna go pay a place to put new bushings in, and then ill just take it home with the new bolts and bushings in, and remove them with ease. |
