Paul, I was about to ask a similar question about mounting a 50 Panel on a mid seventies chassis. Then I read your post and noticed the lack of replies. I would say in your case it shouldn't be too bad. as you are dealing with a cab instead of a panel. I have done a few swaps in my time but never one that is going to help you or I. If you could find a picture of a early frame and match it up with a pic of a later frame it may speak to you. If you do find a picture of an early frame please PM me and let me know. I can send you a link to a picture with dimensions of the 69 3/4 ton frame.

Swap

I have seen one that was done that way and saw several problems with the swap:

1. The track of the front wheels is to wide and forces use of negative offset wheels (like front wheel drive cars).
2. Rear spring perches had to be mover to center wheels. Not as big of problem as #1, but still an issue.
3. Depending on the year of the frame, the rear frame rails kick up, which forces you to raise the floor of your bed.
4. Your truck will not weigh enough to load the suspension of that donor frame, therefore you will have to change coils to get a descent ride.

You will have better luck trying to use an S10 donor frame (extended cab LWB) since the track is similar (so is the weight of the truck) although you may still have to deal with #3.

Is that an S10 frame under your truck ROb?

How about some more pics of it? Looks great.
