Motor Mount Q:I6toV8
When I go to put a V8 in a I6 truck I`m planning on mounting in V8 position.Do I just use the same(I6)towers?I never thought about this before. Are they the same? This is the first 6cyl.I`ve had. This is a`72 shortbed and I`m using my`71 CustomCamper/20 as the donor.I plan on using the Dana 60 and shortening the driveshaft.

Thanks.I`m mounting in the right(V8)location.Since truck was a 3spd with 1pc driveshaft,I`ll use the longbed one to cut-down to the right length(2 1/2"+/-)Not going to "tub" it,but am using the D60(4.10)w/Mark Williams 5-lug outer stuff.

You'll need different engine towers - that's the piece that connects the engine mount to the frame. I8 and V8 are different. If you put your V8 in the I6 position I think you can use the same towers. But if you move the engine forward you need the V8 towers. Same motor mounts, just different towers. I got my V8 towers from a board member for about $5.
