lever on rear diff?

I just got a 86 3/4 ton burb and I went to go replace the hard brake line going to the rear and it goes into a junction that looks like it controls a lever going to the rear diff. Can someone tell me what that lever going to the rear diff may be.

I was going to ask the same thing! It's on my 89 3/4 ton burb. Is this part of a "towing" package? My burb has a power steering cooler, oil cooler, tranny cooler, TH400, 4.10 gears.

not sure of the tow package question, but many compact trucks have this also. I had a 2wd base model mitsubishi that had it and my k2500hd has it too, it might vary by manufacturer as to whether or not these were installed.
