Painting/Installing Control Arm Shafts - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I'm hoping to get the front end of my truck back together fairly soon, but I'm gonna need to paint the control arm shafts first. Any tips on painting/installing these things? I normally do real good taking things apart, then screw it up when I put it back together, so I thought it best to ask here first before trying.

I just sanded mine, threw on some primer and some nice gloss paint

So no need to worry about the threads? That's my main concern. Don't want to wind up with paint flakes in the grease fittings. Thanks.

I cleaned the grease off the threads then put masking tape on the threads before sand-blasting and painting. When they were dry I peeled off the tape and installed them, no worries.

I used all new shafts, both upper and lower. Made it easy to paint.
