Re: Nice 67 Hot Rod from the Goodguys show
I was gonna say he needs to get some dull-coat clear on that sweet thing to preserve the patina. Why paint it,just to have another shiney restored truck? The wrecker I`m getting is faded red.All I want to do is put some vintage-style lettering on it:Radio Dispatched,Shop Name, maybe a motto...

Cool Truck!! I like the towel he has over the tailgate so it won't scratch the rust.

Re: Nice 67 Hot Rod from the Goodguys show
The wheels do defeat the whole old school aspect of that truck.

Re: Nice 67 Hot Rod from the Goodguys show
He should get a set of older 15" torque Thrusts in a faded polished aluminum and sand the rust a little to make it smooth then throw on a flat clear. Then I would get a GM 572 crate engine throw a blower on top and make that ***** scream! That would be pretty cool.

if yor gonna go old skool, go old skool. If your gonna put big, shiny wheels on it, put nice, shiny paint on it as well. I would go with a set of cream painted steelies with dog dish hubcaps. I would then build a nasty 327 with a solid roller with a wide LSA to smooth the idle down. I would make it look stock, even with the oil fill tube on the front of the intake and stock valve covers. Just my opinon. That's what makes this hobby so great, variety. If everybody liked the same thing, it would be boring.

Re: Nice 67 Hot Rod from the Goodguys show
Did anyone see the black primer 67-72 suburban there? I didn't see it long enough to place the year. It was so freakin' cool looking.
There was also a '47 Cadillac Hearse if I remember right I hope someone got a picture of. As far as that truck goes, I totally agree with the people who like the paint, and the wheels are okay. But I would so go for something more old school, if it were me of course. Last edited by SlapFish; 11-05-2005 at 12:06 AM. |

Wheels are too much,a nice set of steelies would look much better IMO.Great looking truck though

Cool truck!! Love that rusty patina. I called my wife over and said, "Look babe, I don't hafta paint my truck , I just need to lower it and take it to a car show" She says, "You will need to paint some letters on the side" LMAO
